Do you know the meaning of OK? The answer will surprise you
If it is said that the English word OK is one of the most used words in the world then it will not go unnoticed. Speaking OK, have you ever wondered what that means? The word is actually an acronym for Old English two words "Oll Korrect" which means "all right". In the mid-nineteenth century, the use of unconventional words was common in American cities in Boston and New York.
And it used to be very easy to spell big words. In those days, abbreviations like "KY" instead of "You know" and "OW" instead of "Oll wright" were commonly used. Although most of them just disappeared over time, the use of OK continued because of a politician. It was the politician Van Buren, nicknamed "Old Kinderhook", and his colleagues and workers used to call him OK. Even an OK club was created. Although this word may be related to politics, it is still widely used in the sense of "all right" or "fine".
